mantas poderys’ art practice resides in creation of experience. one person from a line of people outside the gallery is allowed in, the doors remain closed. the gallery contains a handcrafted object. it awaits the interaction of individual audience members within the frame of the gallery walls. the object functions as a trigger, an invitation to an experience to be generated in the eyes of the viewer, an experience that is non-representational, independent of one’s other experiences - perhaps only lasting a few seconds in the moment of ‘now’, excluding the past and the future.
upathon 2012. a charity 24 hour event for laura lynn children. as art director for this project, i pulled together the ideas of talented foxrock youth club members in the decoration process. this is the second of the three houses to be launched into the sky. the third being the biggest, was using over 4000 helium balloons to lift it.
